a look back at hurricane sandy...

i am taking a little pause today, right after thanksgiving, to reflect back on hurricane sandy with a heart full of gratitude at how little it affected us.  a few weeks after the storm, branden made his way out to the rockaways to help with cleanup.  families were left with nothing.  their homes were completely destroyed.  but out of the devastation, thousands of stories of strangers banding together to serve and lift one another have come to light.  that is what this holiday season is all about.

during this time of year, we have the opportunity to be thankful for what we have, and think of those who might be sick, afflicted, poor in spirit, or who might need a helping hand.  i hope that during this holiday season we all let the spirit of christ enter into our hearts and our homes.  so we might give and share with others all that we have been blessed with.  happy thanksgiving!  and let the christmas season begin.

  1. Thanks for those inspiring words. It was fun to have Brandon in our group at the service project.
