sheffield island {9-8}

new york day trip-metro north getaways-sheffield island.  i imagine this would be even better if we had a kid old enough to enjoy the aquarium right next to the ferry dock...but it was still an enjoyable little jaunt regardless.  we did brunch at a local place then walked to the ferry.  we were joined in the fun by michael and brit and baby cannonball (okay, his name is just cannon)-branden's old roommate and his little family.  it's so nice to catch up with old friends.

just as a side note-there was a moment on the island (it's a great trip for its lighthouse) where we actually were COVERED with mosquitoes.  so my dreams of moving to a quaint little house close to the beach surrounded by beautiful marshes is definitely over.  yischk.  (is it just me, or do my last few posts seem to have some sort of vermin in them?)
