about a week ago we made a trip up to the bronx botanical gardens. because i'm feeling particularly disjointed in my thoughts this morning (i should be getting ready right now-not writing this. but i want to get this down before i forget).
i'm just going to list out the things about this day that i remember.
1) the bronx botanical gardens is a pretty easy commute. but with 4 strollers, 6 babies, and 6 adults, things get a little hairy/slow. and i was exhausted when i got home. pregnancy SUCKS it out of you. (7 weeks left and then we have a baby girl. hugo-i wish i could explain this to you!)
2) orchids are dreamy and smell like paradise. seriously.
3) old people LOVE their botanical gardens. i would not be surprised if i had seen my own grandparents there. all of those wonderful old people happened to be wonderful patrons to be walking through the greenhouse with. very very kind.
4) small children run away. (or is it just mine?)
5) picnics are fun. even in the cold. even when you aren't supposed to picnic (seriously-who made that rule?)
6) i am uber duper lucky to have such wonderful women to do things with.
7) this place looks like an amazing garden of eden right?
(and look at that funny guy in red trying to hide/photobombing. ha!)
sometimes it's nice to reconnect with nature a little bit after spending so much time surrounded by buildings and concrete. although, the last week in the city has been sincerely divine. this is the time of year where all of us who have been cooped up inside come out and say "oh! new york! how could i ever doubted you!?"

It looks heavenly! And lovely pictures BTW!
