machiavelli's {6-16}
saturday morning -- we decided to go for brunch. but brunch in nyc with a wheelchair and 2 babies can get tricky. it needs to be a big space that has no steps and plenty of room for babies to sit on laps in front of the adults. in a city where space is at a premium this is no small task. i looked online at a few places and thought i had found one that would work. but as we walked up it looked far too crowded to fit a wheelchair. and too sunny for my dad's pale skin (he thinks about the sun and gets sunburned. really.) so we walked down a few more blocks and this perfect place pops up. authentic italian restaurant, completely handmade by local artisans (plates, silverware, chairs, frescoes on the wall).
it was incredible! and to top it off, there is a classical pianist playing in the center of the restaurant. the food was delicious, the ambiance perfect and it was truly a christmas brunch day miracle.
after brunch it was back to the park. babies love the park. adults love the park. it was a win win for all involved. and look! my dad is a rockies fan even in nyc. (side note-fans of a baseball team are somewhat alike-yankees fans are WAY different than mets fans who are WAY WAY different from rockies fans. anyway, demographics might have something to do with it?)
