playtime

one of the things i have noticed is how our methods of play have changed over the last few months.  at the beginning of the summer- hugo was my sidekick.  we playground hopped at my whim, visited museums, stopped for treats and just enjoyed city exploring.  but now he needs me to wrestle with him, play games with him, run through the park with him. play has become more physical and interactive.  sitting in the stroller while we explore the city isn't enough-he needs to be in on the action.
now he climbs on the playground with confidence and physical aptitude which would have made me hyperventilate a few weeks earlier.  his vocabulary has expanded so quickly that it only takes a day or two to learn new words, ideas, phrases, or objects. over time i have had to plan the day more carefully so that i was do things that would use his energy up and keep him occupied.  in short-he's become a full-fledged little person.  and i'm just trying to keep up.  here's to the next few months and looking forward to what they bring!

  1. I admire the activities you plan to create learning opportunities for Hugo. I am learning from your example.
