henrietta leigh berns.
she arrived! 6.14 (friday night-i got to skip out on the cub scout award ceremony! i wish i could have said goodbye to the boys, but sort of glad to miss out on all the work). we're tired. we're happy. and i'm not sure how i'm ever going to blog again with so many little feet around. but i'm guessing we'll adjust and be back in no time. until then. a quick series of photos.
| water broke at 4 am on friday and then we spent all day waiting for contractions. none came. we brunched at jacob's pickles while we waited. |
i have no photos from the laboring period. let's just say it was hard. got into a room around 7 or 8 pm after a few hour wait (doc said i should head into the hospital even without contractions for monitoring after about 12 hours). they started me on pitocin at 9:00 pm, branden yelled at the anesthesiologist around 11:00 pm for not coming fast enough, epidural was finished by 11:30 pm, and baby was born at 11:41 pm. crazy.
| there she is-shortly after coming into the world. |
| our nurse gladys knight (seriously though! that was her name!) and our little blue baby. the cord was wrapped around her neck so she was a little blue when she arrived. (and i loved our nurse. a great lady) |
| grandma arrived a few moments after henrietta was born and got to watch them record her stats. (apgar score of 9! here we come private NYC schools.....) |
and we finally got to hold her
| her little squished up face. poor newborns. coming into the world is pretty tough. |
She's beautiful! Congratulations family of four!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Amanda! I'm so excited for you all, and hope you have some lovely, wonderful first days with your baby girl.
ReplyDeletePS...that last comment was from me, Chrissy...your cousin. Not my husband. That would be weird. :)
