make-ups

 last weekend branden ended up having to work all day saturday and all day sunday which ended up forcing us to cancel our mother's day plans (we were all set for a night away..bummer).

anyway, this last saturday we had a make-up mother's day.  we made our way into the park-with plans to take the boats out of the boathouse.  halfway there, we promptly realized we had no cash (oops).  and i'm not so quick anymore so turning around to walk back to grab cash, then walk out again wasn't an option.  but funny enough, neither one of us cared too much.  it was more about being together and being able to relax.  for branden, chasing around the little guy was a break.  and for me, NOT chasing around the little guy was a break (!).
we found some azaleas, ran around bethesda fountain (okay, the smallest one of us ran around bethesda fountain) and made a final stop at the  central park petting zoo. (best membership i have ever bought.  so worth it)

we finished up the day with a delicious lunch at ditch plains (and even picked up an extra friend of hugo's to join us!).

best part of the whole day?  being all together as a family.  it's only going to be the three of us for a few more weeks.  i got to just watch my two boys play, take pictures, and laugh at the two of them.
 i loved it.
