Columbia Law School Class of 2012

Today, Amanda and I sat down and decided which borough of NYC we are going to be living in for the next three years. We were considering two different schools in NYC so while we were planning on moving there, we didn't know exactly where. I feel very blessed to attend the school that has been my first choice for the last several years. In fact, I have wanted to go to Columbia since I watched President Hinckley's biography video as a Freshman and found out that he had wanted to go there for his graduate training. If it was good enough for him then I am more than happy to be there too. Thanks to family and friends for your support and encouragement. Most of all, thanks to Amanda. She has been the best support I could ever ask for and she deserves a lot of the credit for any good things that happen to come my way.

  1. Morningside Heights! There's this place called the International House. It's subsidized housing for graduate students and interns that Rockefeller set up in the 20s. It's not the nicest place ever, but it's furnished and safe and it's in a good ward. And, it's comparatively cheap. When we lived there in '07 it was about $1800 a month for a really good sized one bedroom apartment with lots of closet space (yeah, that's cheap).

  2. Congrats! Make sure you at least check out the LDS Google Groups. The postings on there are hit and miss but they seem to have a lot of postings for areas around Columbia. Also, everyone kept telling us to call the Columbia housing office... which I'm sure you've already done, but just in case. You might as well live close since you have zero kids, right? No need to live in Jersey or anything. Also, I'm already planning my birthday on August 11 :) there is a yankee game that night that you guys should hit up with us!! Congrats again. PS-I'm sure you glad you aren't in Italy today...
